When Does Andropause Begin? While menopause in women takes place at a relatively fixed point in time, and is evident by cessation of menstruation, the various symptoms among men occur more slowly and variably. Some men remain physically fit and sexually active until of an advanced age. Then there are men who already at a very young age show marked symptoms. In general, the largest group of men who suffer symptoms which fall in the broad category of andropausal symptoms, are between the ages of 45 and 65 years. The earlier symptoms occur, the more important it is to find the cause and implement an appropriate therapy.
